Bespoke Commissions

A commission is a piece made once, for one person. This is how the House approaches it.

The Conversation

It begins with a private appointment at The Loft in Darlinghurst, or by email if you are not in Sydney. We talk through what the piece is for, how it will be worn and what you are drawn to. Appointments run for 60 to 90 minutes.

The Stone

Most commissions start with the stone. You choose from the House's Australian Parti sapphires and natural diamonds, each selected for its individual character. The colour and natural variations of the stone inform the design that follows.

The Form and the Metal

Each piece is hand carved in the studio, then cast in solid metal: 925 Silver, Oxidised 925 Silver, 9K Yellow, 9K White, 18K Yellow or 18K White. We do not plate.

The Making

The piece is cast, set and finished by hand in Sydney and carries the House's signature hallmarks. Before we begin, we confirm a timeframe with you directly. Engagement and High Jewellery pieces take 4 to 8 weeks, and a commission can take longer depending on the piece and the stone. A follow-up appointment is offered as your piece progresses.

After

Your piece is sent by insured express within Australia, or collected from The Loft. Cleaning and setting checks at The Loft are complimentary.
